A pellet-fired sauna heater, and the only one of its kind in this range. The Pellum burns compressed wood pellets rather than split logs — you load a basket once, light it from the top, and it runs unattended for four to five hours, with the stones holding heat well past the end of the burn.
That changes the character of a wood session. There is no tending, no refuelling window, no judging when to add the next log. What you give up is the ritual of the fire; what you get back is a wood sauna that behaves more like an electric one.

Stacked against the heater's own height, the overhead clearance means the Pellum needs roughly 80 inches of interior height — in line with the Finnish log heaters in this range. Measure your ceiling before ordering.
Compatibility
The Pellum vents from the top only, so it requires a top-exit chimney kit. It is offered on the Canadian Timber barrel saunas, which provide that routing; the cabin and pod models route their chimneys out the side or back and are not compatible.
Fuel & Operation
Wood pellets only, 6–8 mm diameter and below 10% moisture. Pellets load into a dedicated basket and are lit from the top down. A preliminary burn must be carried out outdoors before the first use in the sauna, to cure the heat-resistant paint.
Stones are not included and the Pellum takes 265 lb of them — the largest stone load of any heater in this range. Budget for them separately.
A top-exit chimney kit is required and sold separately. Wood-burning appliances carry clearance, flue and local ordinance requirements — verify with your local fire marshal before ordering. Installation by a qualified installer is required. Follow the manufacturer's lighting instructions exactly; ignition procedures differ from those of log-fired heaters.
